There are two types of diabetes, Type 1, and Type 2. Type 1, says the NHS, is “where the body’s immune system attack and destroys the cells that produce insulin”. In contrast Type 2 is “where the body does not produce enough insulin, or the body’s cells do not react to insulin.” Type 2 is the most common form of diabetes, making up around 90 percent of those diagnosed. Diabetes, like every condition, has a number of signs and symptoms that can indicate if someone has the condition. However, the body can also send out signals when a person is pre-diabetic. If someone is pre-diabetic, it means that their blood sugar levels are high, but not high enough to class the person as having diabetes.
